Russian President Dmitry Medvedev arrived in the Tatarstan capital on June 24. Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Russian President’s Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Volga Federal District Grigory Rapota, State Council Chairman Farid Mukhametshin, Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov and other officials met the Russian President at the Kazan International Airport.
Dmitry Medvedev’s agenda in Kazan includes a tripartite meeting of heads of state of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan and a joint meeting of the Council under the Russian President for the development of physical training and sports and the Foundation for support for Russian Olympic contenders.
The Russian President is also expected to attend the Russian President’s Cup Horse Racing at the Kazan Horse Racing Complex.
