Muslims are Celebrating Isra and Mi'raj's Evening

In June 9 Muslims are celebrating Isra and Mi'raj's - a holiday to commemorate the miraculous journey of Prophet Muhammad from Mecca to Jerusalem and his ascension to the seventh heaven to the throne of the Allah. Fasting in Migradzh in a ritual side is equal to hundred nights of fasting.

According to the legend at the night the angel Gabriel appeared in from of the Prophet Muhammad and offered to travel to Jerusalem. In Jerusalem in the mosque Al-Aqsa Muhammad met the other prophets - Ibrahim, Musa, Isa. They together read the Namaz (Muslim Prayer). Then Muhammad, accompanied by Gabriel, ascended to the seven heavens (Isra and Mi'raj's).

As Muhammad told - in the first heaven Adam opened him the gates of the heaven, in the second he met the Prophet Yahya and Isa, in the third - Yusuf, in the fourth - Idris, in the fifth - Haroon, in the sixth - Musa, in the seventh - Ibrahim. After overcoming all the heavens he met the Allah and they conversed.

During the journey to the heaven to the prophet was shown heaven and hell. As he had returned back to Mecca he discovered that his journey lasted no more than a moment. He mentioned that from the overturned vessel did not go out even a drop of water.

Exactly at that time Muhammad received the command of the Allah to pray five times per day.
