On 20th of June it was reported that Zinetula Bilyaletdinov held an appointment as a head coach of national Russian Hockey Team. Winning the Olimpics in Sochi is the goal set before him. Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko assured Bilyaletdinov that combining positions in the Team and Kazan „Ak Bars” is inappropriate.
Following the resignation of Vyacheslav Bykov and Igor Zakharkin due to the failure at the World Championships in Slovakia members of the executive committee of the Russian Hockey Federation said that the new head coach should be exactly Bilyaletdinov. President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said that in the interests of the Russian team Kazan „Ak Bars” is ready to release the trainer.
Let us recall that the 56-year-old expert who replaced Vyacheslav Bykov as a coach of national Team is heading Kazan club since September 2004. Previously he was the head coach of Moscow „Dinamo” and Swiss „Lugano”. Bilyaletdinov led the Team from May 2004 to March 2005. The Russians reached the quarterfinals World Cup 2004.
